Hello all, not sure what to put here I hate talking about myself!

I own a Nikon D90, just upgraded from the D40 and still have an awful lot to learn but thats no great hardship :D My hobby is something called Urban Exploration so most of my photos are of derelict buildings but I have two small children so would like to leaarn more about doing portraits to capture them as they grow.

My Flicr stream is here but don't expect anything spectacular if you do look lol

Wish I could have made your meet tonight but I left it a little late to sort out childcare so hubby could come along too...will get him to register later :)

Hello and welcome!

An area of work I've never even attempted is UE - but something that we're looking at doing a couple of times in the coming months!

No doubt you'll soon pick up new 'tricks' with your camera - everyone here has something to share :)

I've always wanted to go exploring but don't have the guts to 'get' into a suitable location.

I tried High Royds once, the security guard told me to go away so I did, I'm rubbish at this Urbex lark!

Lol we did a piss take shoot on high royds roof the other week, the ward we got into was almost converted so we didn't hang around...other than that we have only been in the morgue and social club..they are very friendly and cheap if your passing...the female toilets are odd cos it was an old ward and everything still looks like it did when they had patients lol

Welcome aboard :)

Just been looking through your photos. Where do you find these locations and how do you get in them?

Would love to do some model shoots in locations like these.

We just go try our luck that theres an unboarded window ect as for finding locations we look round leeds a lot, read the press to see if anythings getting closed down, for outside Leeds we have got to know others with the same interest through forums. The one we tend to use the most is urbex forums (won't post a link not sure its allowed).

As for doing model shoots there I would try avoid asking anyone in the urbex community a few have had their fingers stung taking none explorers (especially with asylums and hospitals, High Royds was in all the local rags about a year ago due to a shoot in the morgue, was in very bad taste using fake blood ect ect).

Using these location warn any models they may have to leg it from security :D
